Hello,

My name is Paivi Grogan, one of the co-founders of Golden Thymes Soaps & Crafts. My sister in law, Cathy, and I, started making soaps few years ago for ourselves and our families. We were fascinated by the process of combining science with art -- after all soapmaking does involve a good amount of chemistry and visual interest.

We studied every textbook we could get our hands on and as a result of months of study and, hard work, a "perfect bar of soap" was born. We wanted to spoil ourselves with the finest of the finest, and by knowing exactly what went in our soaps, we were able to create SOAP that we couldn't find anywhere else. We found that the use of fresh goats milk (bought from a local farm) lowers the PH level of the soap, making it very gentle to use. We added generous amounts of cocoa butter and other luxurious oils to make the showering experience quite an indulgence.

We combined different essential oils to uplift, relax or sooth, or to even ease PMS symptons (Since through our sense of smell we can effect our moods, and trigger memories) Not all our creations have a aromatherapeutic goal in mind though: sometimes, washing with sun dried raspberry scent is just fun!

Soon we had soap everywhere, too much to be used by our eager families ... so we decided to share the good experince by going to craft fairs to make it available for others too. By a popular demand, in June 2004, Golden Thymes Soaps & Crafts was born.

Now, after over two years in operation, we have created a loyal clientele and experienced steady growth. We will continue to create new products to complement the milk soap experience.
